| WAVES UNFURL | |||

smooth blue satin evening’s arms and you
pull me closer, inhale dusk your pulse with mine
our tender currents tremble aspen leaves in rain
salty dew perfumes our skin our careless hair
our bodies understand shadow’s hungry need
ascent along slow curves our silhouettes and we
pulled from drowning swim to save each other breathe
kisses into sails fastened deep below
glide into stillness curl to one another
yield the waves that follow smooth unfurling satin
